I only knew Bill a short time from our contact in USCGAUX. His welcoming nature and generous service to those of us like myself who benefited from his knowledge and experience will surely miss him. Many thanks go out to his family for all they contributed over the years as well!

Christie and Family: So sorry to hear about Bill's passing. I met you at the class reunion at Baxter Mountain in Keene several years ago. It was wonderful to see Bill again and he seemed so happy to talk about old times. I was also delighted to meet you and so glad you attended the Reunion. Please accept my deepest sympathy at this very sad time. Take care.

Bill was one of a kind! He was a true gentleman and truly engaged in the lives of everyone he met. I doubt he ever turned down anyone who asked him for help, and more often than not would offer before it was necessary to ask. I have such fond memories of his wedding to Christie (what a wonderful time!) and the many Flotilla events they hosted. He will indeed be missed! My sincere condolences to his family, both immediate and flotilla.

It been a honor to know Bill Orsmby and be one of his shipmates. He took me in like I was a relative and being a stranger to no one. He has done a lot of great work within the military and with non military personnel. He served in the US NAVY . I enjoy listening to his sea stories. He was good teacher and warn people of trouble and kept them out of trouble or he will stand in your way. His work was unfinished and taken away from us too soon. Bill was a great guardian at sea and land a was always was on alert. His spirits were all ways strong and energized and never missed anything get past him nor did tolerate things not getting fixed or finish and never let things lapse. His presence was all way there at the meeting when he was not physically there. If he had to stay home and could not be at the meeting, he was on the computer telling his shipmates in his flotilla something needs to be fixed or do not forget this and other messages. I had not seen Bill for awhile but my phone kept alerting me while I was at the meetings and let them know what he said, whether it was late or not. May your legacy carry on. For I feel you are near us even we can not see you. May you countiue to keep us out of trouble and all ways remind us and show us the way. One of a kind. A true Guardian sea and land. πŸ™πŸ» I shall never forget.
