Rodney Charles Lapp
Service: October 21, 2019 (Monday) at 11:00 AM
Location: Neelsville Presbyterian Church, 20701 Frederick Rd, Germantown, MD 20876

Rodney Charles Lapp, 62, went home to be with Jesus on October 16, 2019. He died at his home in Damascus, MD. Rodney is survived by his wife Jane Lapp; his children Jason, Kara, and Kristy Lapp; his brother Jeffrey Lapp (Winifred) and his sister Paula Lapp; and many beloved family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Ralph and Beatrice Lapp.

Rodney is a native of Montgomery County, Maryland.  He grew up in Kensington and graduated from Einstein High School, where he played football and was awarded the MVP trophy in basketball.  He continued his love for the game by coaching and mentoring kids. He proudly worked at Pepco for 40 years.  He loved God and served the church in many capacities as Elder, Trustee and Missionary. He had a strong relationship with Jesus Christ and wanted everyone else to know about Him. He especially had a passion for work camps and using his hands to serve those in need. Rodney loved his family and friends and lived his life to the fullest. He and Jane were married for 38 years and raised three children, Jason, Kara and Kristy.  He loved cards, coin collecting, Nationals baseball, traveling, hiking, biking, running, fishing, golfing, experimenting with cooking, smoking meats and eating, especially crabs.  Rodney never met a stranger; he spent his life listening and encouraging lives. When Rodney was in the room, his loud contagious laugh filled the whole room. His legacy of humility, resiliency, and faith will live on.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 11:00am at Neelsville Presbyterian Church, located at 20701 Frederick Rd, Germantown, MD 20876.
