Jeffrey died early Sunday morning after a long struggle with complications of renal cancer. He died at home under Hospice Care, surrounded by his loved ones. Visitation will be held at DeVol Funeral Home located at 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877on Friday, March 29, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm followed by a Funeral Mass at 5:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6701 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood, Maryland, 20855.
Jeffrey was born in Cheverly, Maryland and grew up in Northeast Washington, DC. He attended St. Jerome’s elementary school and graduated from Dematha High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He graduated from TEST trade school and worked his way up to Project Manager in the Fire and Security industry. Jeff and his wife Jaime Smith have lived in Gaithersburg, Maryland with their two daughters, Jordan Renee and Jenna Renee. He and his wife have worked for Red Hawk Fire and Security in Beltsville, Maryland for many years.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Jaime Mowry Smith, his two daughters, Jordan Renee and Jenna Renee, his sister, Shannon Smith Perticone, his mother Carol O’Donnell Smith Simmons and her husband Robert Simmons. Jeff and Shannon lost their father, John Smith, in January 2018. Jeffrey and Jaime have a very large extended family on both the O’Donnell-Smith and Mowry-Linder sides of the family. They have been surrounded by family and wonderful friends throughout this difficult time.
