William Samuel Rayel

Bill Rayel passed away peacefully on January 17, 2019, at the age of 71.  Bill was born in 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio to Lawrence and Helene Rayel.  He graduated from Westlake High School and went to work building a carnival game business, Rayel Amusements.  The blue and gold awnings of his Birthday Game could be seen in carnivals around Northeast Ohio into the mid-1990s.

In 1970, Bill married the late Janice Rayel (nee Baker), his wife of 34 years.  Together, they had two children, Will and Tiffany Rayel, and traveled all over the world...but primarily Disney World.  Bill was a devout Catholic and member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather to Joseph, John, Michael, Sebastian, and Leo Rayel, and brother to Pat DeVoss, Bob Thomas, Jack Rayel, and the late Cathy Rayel.

After working as a security guard manager for many years, Bill's final career was as a greeter for Disney's Magical Express Bus at the Orlando, Florida Airport, where his smile and Mickey Mouse glove guided travelers to their fun-filled vacations for several years.  Bill was known for his generosity and sense of humor.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Friends may call at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20877, on Thursday, January 24, 2019, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 9000 Warfield Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20882, on Friday January 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Germantown, MD.
