Dr. Michael Wells Eisenhour, 41, of Olney, MD passed away in his sleep on the morning of Saturday, January 12, 2019. Michael was born September 2, 1977 in Johnstown, PA.
Michael was the treasured newlywed husband of Lenore Appelhans Eisenhour, the devoted father of two children, ages 7 and 11, the cherished son of Art and Sue Eisenhour, and beloved brother of Glenn Eisenhour, Daniel Eisenhour and Daniel New Schneider (honorary).
Michael lived his life here on Earth like a bright burning flame, with irresistible, infectious vibrancy. He is gone far too soon, but the ways he touched all he encountered with his kindness, generosity, intellectual curiosity, abiding faith, mischievous sense of humor and absolute enthusiasm for life will continue for generations. He leaves behind a multitude of family, friends, colleagues, and patients who will profoundly miss his easy smile and deep compassion.
Michael attended Wootton High School, The University of Colorado in Boulder, and The University of Maryland. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He was employed as a Physical Therapist with the Medstar Visiting Nurses Association, and a member of Oakdale Church where he led in the Children's eMpower ministry. He was his son's soccer coach, a frequent volunteer at Belmont Elementary School, and was active in community service.
Michael's favorite season was summer and his favorite place to chill was the beach. He loved music, going to concerts, traveling, telling jokes, cooking, googling, reading books and playing games with his kids, rooting for the Steelers and Penguins, and contemplating how he could make someone the happiest and then moving mountains to make it happen.
The family would like to request that those who attend Michael's celebration of life wear bright colors and bring a written story of one of their favorite memories of Michael that can be shared with his children in the future.
A memorial mass will be held on January 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church, 610 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877. A reception will follow afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the children's Maryland 529 college funds.
