On September 17, 2018, Bill peacefully passed away surrounded by his family at home in Potomac, MD at the age of 69. He was born at Providence Hospital in Washington D.C. on November 19, 1948 to Darnel G. Talbert and Dora V. (Bateman) Talbert. He graduated from University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1971 and an MBA from the UVA Darden School of Business in 1973. He started his career in 1974 at Clark Construction (initially Omni Construction) as a project manager and ascended through the ranks to eventually become CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Region. Under his leadership Clark built numerous DC landmarks, including Nationals Park, Orioles Park at Camden Yards, FedEx Field, Capitol One Arena, the Washington Convention Center, the U.S. Department of Transportation Headquarters, and the National Museum of American Indian.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Darnel W. “Bud” Talbert of Cary, NC and Robert H. Talbert of Ellendale, DE. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Karen Talbert of Potomac and two sons Scott Talbert of Manassas, VA and Christopher Talbert and his wife Michelle of Falls Church, VA; two grandchildren, William and Katherine Talbert, a brother Ronald Talbert and his wife, Denise of Lothian, MD.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 9200 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac, MD 20854, on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, visitation at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11 a.m.
