James Ray Sugg, 72, passed away in peace on Saturday, June 30, 2018.

Born December 31, 1945 in Norfolk, VA, he was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson HS in 1964.  Following graduation Jim enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for 20 years active duty and retired after 30 years.  He continued to support the Navy as a Government Contractor, most recently with Delta Resources in Washington, DC.  Jim had a passion for genealogy and family history that led him to travel extensively and had begun writing a book on the Sugg family.  He also served as the Executive Secretary of the World Chamberlain Genealogical Society (WCGS).

Preceded in death by his daughter Lisa Ann Sugg; he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pat Sugg; daughter Stephanie Tucker (Marion Tucker) and their two children Austin and Madison Tucker; daughter Kristen Barker and her three children Victoria, Sarah, and Christian Barker; his brothers Terry and Dwayne Sugg; and other extended family.  His family, both immediate and extended, meant the world to him and he was grateful every day for the time he had with them.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the ICU medical staff, in particular the nurses, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
