Michael John Gronsky, 52, of Gaithersburg, MD passed away on June 7th in Gaithersburg, MD.
Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday, June 23rd at De Vol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD. A memorial Mass will be Saturday, July 21st at St. Margaret Of Scotland Church, 310 Mansfield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA.
Burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, July 27th at All Souls Cemetery, 11401 Brink Road, Germantown, MD.
Michael was born on November 29, 1965 and adopted in Pittsburgh, PA by John and Dorothy Elizabeth Gronsky. He attended Seneca Valley High School in Germantown, MD. Michael graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a B.A. in Sociology and Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a M.S. in Business Administration. He was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma honor society for collegiate schools of business. Michael worked as a Test Engineer for Cognosante, LLC. He served as the president of the Stedwick Homes Corporation Board for over fifteen years where he received numerous awards including a community service award, certificates of appreciation and an 18-year service award. Also, he was honored with two certificates from the U.S. Department of State. Michael was a champion of the humane treatment of animals and had two dogs pass before him: Callie and Selma.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, John Gronsky.
Michael is survived by his brother Thomas (Kelly) and his mother Dorothy Elizabeth.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given in his name and the names of his two beloved dogs, Callie and Selma, to the Montgomery County Humane Society, 601 South Stonestreet Avenue, Rockville, MD 20850. The family of Michael wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of De Vol Funeral Home, the staff of All Souls Cemetery and Geraldine Gronsky.
