In 1960, the family moved to Ithaca, New York, where Barney taught history and geography at Ithaca High School, and Peggy became an assistant dean in the College of Arts and Sciences at Cornell University. The day before she died, she took part in a March for Our Lives at Asbury Methodist Village. Peggy was predeceased by Barney in 2014, two months before their 65th wedding anniversary, and by her three sisters, Mary Lieberworth, Gertrude "Trudy" Horowitz and Edith "Didi" Stedman. She is survived by her children, Bruce (and spouse Calla Davis Unsworth), of Oakland, California, Alan, of Rochester, New York, and Laura (and spouse Theodore May), of Oakton, Virginia; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her family will remember her courage, her energy and her love.
A memorial service to celebrate Peggy's life will be held on Saturday, May 12th at 2:00 pm in the Guild Chapel at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
