Mollie Genovese passed away October 27, 2017, at her home in Montgomery Village, Maryland, after a year-long battle with cancer. Born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 10, 1950 to Hughes and Betty Wilson, the family moved to Stamford, Connecticut, where Mollie attended school, graduating from Rippowam High School in 1968. During her marriage she spent 12 years providing loving home daycare while raising her family.
After moving to Maryland in 1995, she worked as a Project Specialist with Marriott Corporation in Bethesda for 17 years.
Mollie was extremely talented and easily created beautiful quilts, dresses, needlepoint and more for family and friends. She enjoyed her gardens, any beach with sunshine, and especially loved her family.
She is survived by her sons PJ (Paula), Jonathan (Jaqulyn), and Michael, and grandchildren Emily, Joe, Amy, Chloe and Olivia, as well as her sister, Judy (David) Cullen of Damascus, MD, her brother Tim (Sandy) Wilson of Granger, IN, and beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at St. Leo Parish in Stamford on Saturday, November 4, at 10 AM. Burial follows at Fairfield Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
