William G. Tull (Bill) was 88 years young when he died peacefully on January 26, 2017 after a short illness. He was born in Summit, NJ and lived in the Washington, DC area for over 40 years. By his own admission, he had lived a good and full life. He dropped out of high school and served 5 years in the Marine Corp. After his tour of duty which included WW2 and Korea, he entered and graduated from Cornell University. Bill had a successful career in finance working for Ford, Price Waterhouse, and Irving Trust Company in New York City. He moved to the Washington D.C. area in 1973 and worked for Riggs Bank and American Security Bank, where he was President and Chief Operating Officer. After retirement in 1989, he and Sue traveled by land, sea and air. Bill was a long standing and active parishioner with the St. Francis Episcopal Church in Potomac, MD. He was a generous contributor to the Ivymount School and led one of the most successful funding raising campaigns for the United Way National Capital Area. Above all, his family, including his golden retrievers, brought him great joy and was a source of tremendous pride. His favorite place on this earth was his “Camp” in the Adirondacks, closely followed by Burning Tree Club. Many of his happiest times included good gin and cigars, surrounded by his family and friends and always included lots of laughter!!
Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Suzanne Davis Tull; three children, Anne Mosley (David), Katie Jaggers (Ira Ludwick) and Bob (Kristin); and four grandchildren, Gray Jaggers and Jessica, Corey and Alison Tull all of whom called him “Chief”.
