Dorothy McNeeley McCutcheon passed away Friday, January 20, 2017, at Asbury Methodist Village, Gaithersburg, Maryland, where she had been a long-time resident. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence C. McCutcheon whom she married on November 2, 1938. She is predeceased by her husband and her brother, Harry Drake McNeeley (Murray) of Kingsport, Tennessee and Idabeth McNeeley Thornton (Allan) of Gaithersburg, MD. She is survived by her son, Larry McCutcheon (Joyce) of Hohenwald, Tennessee and daughter Linda McCutcheon Smith (David) of Blacksburg, Virginia. She was the much loved Grandmother and “Mamaw” to Mark McCutcheon (Karen) of Franklin, TN, Kelly Kramp Collins (Henry) of Germantown, MD, Kimberly Kramp Kelley of Charlotte, NC, Jennifer Tiger of Columbia, TN and Allison Barcz (David) of St. Louis, MO. She is also survived by great grandchildren Emma, Shelby, Charlie, Christina, Ryan, Jake, Brooke, Evelyn, and Avery. Dorothy was born on October 21, 1915, in Orlinda, Robertson County, Tennessee to Harry Watson and Lemma Elizabeth Drake McNeeley. She attended Bowling Green College of Commerce and Bethel College. She was a resident of Chevy Chase and Bethesda, Maryland where she was active in the Bethesda Woman’s Club and Questers Antique Club. She later moved to Asbury Methodist Village in 1998. She had been a member of Chevy Chase United Methodist Church since 1949. A private family service will be held to inter ashes at Parklawn Cemetery and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
