On Wednesday, September 2, 2015 Victor Nedzelnitsky of Gaithersburg, MD.  Victor was born and raised in New Haven, CT.  He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in electrical engineering at MIT and also did postdoctoral work there.    In 1976, Victor's thirty-seven year career with the National Bureau of Standards (later NIST) began in his field of specialization, electroacoustical measurements.   He participated in the development of domestic and international standards in this field.  His work with other agencies included research and consulting in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs Audiology and Speech Pathology Program which develops ways to rehabilitate veterans whose speech and hearing were damaged in combat.  Victor received a special commendation from the VA for his contributions to these efforts.  Victor is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America, and he was recognized by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) for outstanding contributions to the development of its international standards.  He served as Technical Advisor to the US National Committee of the IEC of electroacoustics , chaired the Acoustical Society of America (ASA)Technical Advisory Group of Electroacoustics, and served as an ex officio member of the ASA Committee on Standards.  Victor is the beloved husband of Marguerite K. Nedzelnitsky; brother of Oleg Nedzelnitsky; son of the late Oleg and Nadya Nedzelnitsky.  Friends may call at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, 3500 Massachusetts Avenue, N.W., Washington DC 20007 on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 10 to 11 am with funeral service to begin at 11 am.   Interment  All Souls Cemetery, Germantown, MD.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 7500 Greenway Center Drive, Suite 300, Greenbelt, MD 20770. www.cancer.org.
