Eugenie M. (Jeanie) Ridgway, of Silver Spring, Md and also of Stuart, FL and S. Bethany, DE died peacefully on May 6, 2015 after a short illness.  She was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late Richard C. Ridgway; loving mother of Michael C. Ridgway (Nancy), Dana Ridgway Siekman (Sam), Lynn Ridgway (Bob), Lisa Ridgway Slater (Bill), Brian Ridgway (Carolyn); loving Grandmother of 16 grandchildren. She was known to her family as �Grandy� 

Mrs. Ridgway was born on November 23, 1937 in Silver Spring, MD.  She is a graduate of Holy Name Academy and attended Rosemont College.

Throughout her life, Mrs. Ridgway dedicated herself to coaching and inspiring young CYO women.  In her late teens, she coached CYO softball and was a basketball coach of over 15 teams from the mid 1960�s until she retired in the 1980�s.  In 1975, Mrs. Ridgway was named the CYO Coach of the Year and was subsequently honored as the first inductee into the Catholic Business Network Coach�s Hall of Fame.

Her greatest love was her family and she dedicated her life to raising her 5 children while supporting her husband�s law career.  She donated her talents and countless hours to the children�s school programs and activities, while also coaching their various teams. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and never missed the opportunity to cheer them on at sporting events or school competitions.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Ridgway was an avid philanthropist and contributor to local Catholic Charities, in particular the Shepherd Foundation. 

Friends may call at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 9701 Summit Ave, Kensington, MD 20895 on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 4PM -7 PM, where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 10:30 AM

Interment will be held privately. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Shepherd Foundation  PO Box 50, Kensington, MD  20895.
