Ann D. Harvey

Ann D. Harvey was born in Canton, OH to James and Hazel DeWitt on February 9, 1931. She died April 27, 2017 in Bethesda, MD in the comfort of her son, Jeffrey.

She grew up in Canton, OH and went on to Mary Washington College (now University) in Frederickburg, VA. from which she graduated in 1953. While there, she met James W. Harvey, Jr., whom she married in 1955 in Washington DC and was married to for more than 51 years until his death in 2007. They spent time in Baltimore, MD and Nashua, NH, before settling in Sudbury, MA, where they spent nearly 40 years and brought up 5 children, who survive her.

 Daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Stephen Galbincea of Shaker Heights, OH, son and daughter-in-law James, III and Emily Harvey of Franklin, MA, son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Sarah Harvey of Hingham,MA, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Liz Harvey  of Concord, MA and son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey and Claire Harvey of Bethesda, MD.  She is survived by 9 grandchildren,  Michael, Rachael, Holland, Lillian, James (Jake), Eliza, Camilla, James (Jace) and Haisley, and sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and William Bond of Chevy Chase, MD.  She was a devoted wife and mother who was loved deeply by her family.

Ann was a gifted artist and during her career was appointed as member of the US Stamp Advisory Committee and a distinguished member of the Ladies Committee at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 4th at 2pm at Georgetown Lutheran Church, 1556 Wisconsin Ave. NW Washington, DC 20007. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in the name of Ann D. Harvey to The Museum of Fine Arts of Boston.
