Dr. David O. DAVIS
Of Arlington Virginia. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 holding hands with his beloved wife of 61 years, Agnes (Layden) Davis. David was born in Danville, Illinois on June 25, 1933 to the late Oliver and Marie (Collignon) Davis.
Loving father of Karen Field (Tom), Arlington, Virginia, Kathy Lash (Rick), Arlington, Virginia, Diane Fletcher (Tom), Washington, DC, Janet Russell (Tom), Arlington, Virginia. and Nancy Corrao (Mike), Fanwood, New Jersey.
Grandfather of Shannon Field, Kelly Field, Caroline Lash Hill (Thomas), Margaret, Robert, Stephanie and Virginia Lash, Kate, Maggie, Bridget and Colleen Fletcher, Timothy, Daniel, Edward and Charles Russell, Matthew, David, John and Patrick Corrao. Brother of Fannette Elliott (Gene), Danville, Illinois, and the late Richard Davis and Diane Davis Howard, Danville, Illinois.
DOD was a huge presence in everyhing that he did and was responsible for advancing the frontiers of imaging in neuroradiology. Described as "The King of Neuroradiology" by Dr. Art Kobrine, Davis in his role as Chairman and Professionor of Radiology at George Washington University Medical Center, trained an entire of generation of neuroradiologists and was "always available to help colleagues and physicians in the care of patients. He made a difference to us all".
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3513 N Street, NW, Washington, DC 20007. Interment Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd. Arlington, Virginia 22201
