JANE CROWLEY KOONES

 Loving wife, incomparable mother, incredible grandmother and friend and inspiration to so many, Jane Crowley Koones died March 7, 2015 at her home in Chevy Chase. Jane was the devoted wife of Charles K. Koones III and theirs was a 53 year love story. They met while they were both in high school, she at Georgetown Visitation and he at Georgetown Prep. They were married in 1955 in Munich, Germany and together they had six adoring children and 14 spectacular grandchildren. Jane was "Mom" to countless others. She was born in Washington, DC, the only daughter of Thomas and Francis Sullivan Crowley. Jane was the loving sister to Thomas, William, Richard and Edward Crowley. She attended Blessed Sacrament School before entering Visitation. In time, she would send her five daughters to Visitation and eventually became director of admissions at the school. Jane and Charley lived in both Bethesda, MD and Rehoboth Beach, DE and their homes were filled with warmth and laughter. She is survived by her children Kristina Veirs, Karen Callahan, Katie and Law Sheats, Suzie and Tom Egan, Charlie and Linda Koones and Ginge and Jimmy Cabrera and her loving grandchildren Lauren and Morgan Sheats, DJ and Katie Callahan, Colby and Hunter Veirs, Shannon, Kaely and Brendan Egan, Charley and Nick Koones and Peter, Jake and Caroline Cabrera. A family visitation will be held Thursday, March 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Church of the Little Flower and a funeral mass will be held at Little Flower on Friday, March 13 at Noon. A private burial will take place in Rehoboth Beach on March 14, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School, 1524 35th Street, NW Washington, DC 20007, Attn.: Development Office.A family visitation will be held Thursday, March 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Church of the Little Flower and a funeral mass will be held at Little Flower on Friday, March 13 at Noon.
