Lillian Noelle Gardner peacefully left this world on January 9th, 2020. She was 10 months old and lived with her family in Darnestown, MD.
Right from the beginning, Lillian radiated a calm, easy joy. She patiently waited until her family was completely ready to welcome her before making her entrance into this life, as a long-awaited third daughter. Once here, Lillian quickly got about the business of enjoying life, waking up cheerfully in the mornings and letting people know what she needed with surprising clarity.
For one of such a young age, Lillian had already become a peacemaker in her family. With the whirlwind of four busy lives around her, Lillian was there happily at the center, receiving all the love she could hold. When her dad came home from work, Lillian’s bright face welcomed him and washed away the stress of the day. When one of her sisters was having a difficult time, Lillian was there to cheer them up and be lovingly cared for. For a mother working to meet the needs of others, Lillian was the essence of happy contentment.
Everyone who spent time with Lillian noticed her easy-going, cheerful nature, and how perfectly satisfied she was to be with any family member, friend, or neighbor who wanted to hold her or play with her. Confident in the love of her family and secure in her home, she could be with others easily, sharing her smiles, laughter, and curiosity with everyone she met.
Lillian will continue to watch over her parents, Matt and Stasia Gardner; her sisters, Kate and Evelyn Gardner; her maternal grandparents, Susan Borden, and John and Sharon Borden; her paternal grandparents Lisa and Odin Moody, and Kevin and Joanne Gardner; her aunts, uncles, and cousins, Yiannis, Sara, Amelia and Anna Borden, Caryn, Brian, and Tanner Maxwell, and Camryn and Rachel Moody; as well as great-grandparents, great-aunts and uncles, and much extended family.
For friends and family traveling from out of town, recommended hotels are the Courtyard Marriott (204 Boardwalk Place, Gaithersburg, MD) and Springhill Suites (9715 Washington Blvd. Gaithersburg, MD).
