Age 96, of Washington, DC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018.  Beloved wife of 66 years to the late Cmdr. George J. “Jiggs” Largess USN (Ret.); loving mother of Robert Patrick (Jeannine) Largess, Dennis (Maryellen) Largess, Mary Jude Largess (Steve Naumowicz), William Michael Largess, and the late George J. Jr. (Lorraine) Largess.  She is also survived by 10 adored grandchildren and 3 cherished great grandchildren.

Zoe was a 1942 graduate of George Washington University and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was also a member of the Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem and long time devoted parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Matthew’s. During her career, she taught at Calvert School, St. Anne’s, and was a guidance counselor at the Academy of the Holy Cross. Zoe enjoyed attending events at the US Naval Academy and was a dedicated fan of the men’s gymnastics team. She liked to knit, was an avid reader, often would go to the theatre, and most of all loved her family.

Friends may call at the DeVol Funeral Home, 2222 Wisconsin Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20007 on Monday, February 5 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM (complementary valet parking available). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Cathedral of Saint Matthew the Apostle, 1725 Rhode Island Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20036, on Tuesday, February 6 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations made be made to the Washington Stage Guild at: www.stageguild.org.
