Paul Thomas Griffin
Paul Thomas Griffin passed away in his home on March 27, 2019 at the age of 68. Paul was born and lived most of his life in Buffalo, NY. He was a graduate of Bishop Timon High School and earned his bachelor and graduate degrees at Buffalo State College. He spent most of his 34-year career as a special education teacher in the Hamburg Central School District. In his retirement, he was a dedicated volunteer with Catholic Charities of Buffalo. In 2017, Paul moved to Washington, DC to be closer to his beloved family. He enjoyed the last two years exploring Washington with his daughters and making new friends. He loved his Sunday morning routine, attending mass at St. Matthews and brunch on the waterfront afterward where he became known as “Sunday Paul”. Paul was a proud Catholic and a friend to every person he met. His smile and laugh were contagious. He leaves behind countless friends in Buffalo and Washington. Paul loved to “celebrate life”.
Paul was the loving father of three daughters Katherine, Meghan (Gabriel Smith) and Brighid Griffin (Veer Newaldass); proud Grandfather of Grace Griffin Newaldass. He is survived by his brother Patrick John Griffin (Michelle) and sister Denise Griffin Jackson (Alfred).
