Helen Leslie Mikhalevsky on Sunday, June 26 of Alexandria, Virginia at her residence after a long battle with heart disease. Our loving mother, wife and grandmother was predeceased by her husband, Alexander S. Mikhalevsky, her brother George Leslie, her cousin Nathalie Leslie Krassovska and a nephew James Leslie.  She is survived by her three children, Andrei (Carrie), Lisa and Helen (Randy) Pierce. Grandmother of Jonathan, Justin (Liz) and Alexander (Laura) Mikhalevsky, Patrick Morris, Katie (Zach) Dicke and David Pierce; brother-in-law Nicholas Mikhalevsky (Laurel), nephew Peter (Litsa) Mikhalevsky, nieces Nina (Mark) Perry and Natalie Leslie, 2 great grandchildren and numerous grand nieces, grand and great grand nephews.

Helen grew up in New York and Georgetown.  She attended Mary Washington College and later became a secretary for the Navy Dept.  Following her husband's army career, where she spent time in Japan, Morocco and many US duty stations she settled back in the DC area. She worked for Garfinkel's almost 20 years and fell in love with the art of shopping and dressing well.

Friends may call at Saint Nicholas Cathedral on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 4:00PM until 6:30PM. On Wednesday, June 29 the Divine Liturgy will begin at 10AM followed by the funeral at 11AM. 

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or Saint Nicholas Cathedral, 3500 Mass. Ave., N.W. Washington, D.C. 20007
