Frances R. Marshall
On Saturday, April 27, 2019, Frances R. Marshall passed away peacefully at the age of 89. She was born in Washington, DC on August 15, 1929 and spent her life living in Washington, DC as a child and young woman, then moved to Forestville, Maryland after her marriage and later to Tall Timbers, Maryland during her retirement years. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Dumbarton College, both in Washington, DC. Frances worked as an assistant in the dental offices of her husband, Dr. John T. Marshall, for many years. Frances attended Mt. Calvary Catholic Church in Forestville, and St. Georges Catholic Church in Valley Lee, Maryland.
Frances was predeceased by her son, Lt. Col. Robert W. Marshall, USMC (Ret.). She is survived by four of her five children and their spouses: Christine M. Magee and James Magee of Ocean Springs, MS; James D. Marshall and Robin Marshall of Dahlonega, GA; Jeneanne M. Rae and Eugene F. Rae, Jr. of Washington, DC; Jana Marshall of Huntsville, AL; and Anne Marie Walker of Dahlonega, GA. Frances is also survived by fourteen nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call at the DeVol Funeral Home, 2222 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20007, on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 5-7 pm (Complimentary Valet Parking will be Available) and Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 9:30 until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church’s historic St. Ignatius Chapel (circa 1794), 3513 N Street, NW Washington, DC 20007. Interment will immediately follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suitland, MD. A reception will follow at the Georgetown Club, 1530 Wisconsin Ave NW. Washington at 1:30 pm.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org), the Lustgarten Foundation for Pamcreatic Cancer Research (www.lustgarten.org), or charity of your choice.
