Lola B. Cooper
Service: To be announced

On Monday, April 10, 2017, heaven received an amazing angel.  Lola Beatrice Cooper received her wings at 9:05 p.m.; she is 89 years young. She grew up in Coeburn, Va. in Cranes Nest, and that’s where she started her family. She has been a resident of 19107 Laurel Grove Terrace, Germantown, MD 20874 for the past 8 years and resident of Maryland for 50 years.

She is and always will be the beloved wife of her late husband, Hobart Ray Cooper, whom is also her lifelong partner, her soul mate, and the father of her handsome son and beautiful daughter. She couldn’t have been a more loving mother to her son Billy Ray Cooper, named after his father Hobart Ray, and her daughter Edna Joanne Hampton/ Osorio. She is and will always be cherished and missed by her five grandchildren: Dorothy Phelan, Cindy Cooper, Melissa McElderry, Wendy Hicks, and Danny Hampton; and ten great-grandchildren: Crystal, Devin, Joey, Jessica, Taylor, Jaden, Jestin, Ridge, Camden, and Annabella.  She is the loving daughter of Andrew and Martha Sanders.  Lola is one of six children - three brothers and two sisters: Buford Sanders, Jean Laney, Mary Bricky, Aurther Sanders, and Jack Sanders.

Lola loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. Her sense of humor was what her friends and family consider to be unique. She had a very nurturing and kind heart to not only her loved ones, but anyone who came in contact with her.  She has left behind a legacy of love and lots of smiles with memories forever lasting.  Her family can’t say enough about how she has touched theirs lives in ways they can’t describe.  Her stories will be told by many for years to come. She was what her grandchildren consider a one-of-a-kind grandmother that could never be replaced.  They plan to carry on her spunky, fun, contagious personality.

Lola’s wishes were to be cremated and brought home to be with family.  There will be no service at this time.  The family is planning a Celebration of Life service and 90th birthday party for Lola in June. If desired to do so, contributions can be made in Lola’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  This is something Lola has always wanted to donate to.  Thank you in advance for any contributions.

We want to extend a huge thank you to all of those that have expressed their condolences.  And finally from all of us to YOU Grandma….. we will see you again someday… until then don’t forget………………………. WE LOVE YOU MORE!!!!
