Francis Patrick “Pat” Quinn, born March 13th 1939 in Dubuque, IA to Francis Peter and Blanch Edna Loan Quinn, has peacefully left this life on April 23rd 2017 and moved onto his eternal life.

Pat was the beloved husband to Mary Kristin “Kris” for 50 years, loving father to Pat, Eric and Ann, father-in-law to Pilar , adoring grandfather to Austin, Leanna, Ali and Logan, and devoted uncle to Frannie, Vincie, Jean, Terry, Barney, Bart, Andy and many others. He was as funny as he was disciplined and could fix, or at least try to fix, anything put in front of him.

After starting college, he joined the U.S. Army, attending the language school in Monterey, CA studying Czechoslovakian and then spent nearly 4 years on the German-Czech border during the Cold War. Pat then returned to the University of Iowa, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Russian and German languages, followed by his Master’s degree in Russian Literature. A well-regarded 40-year veteran of the F.B.I. whose work became policy, could only offer to us the advice to "watch the news tonight."

He always stuck to his principles and faith doing his best to provide for those around him and supported family and friends unconditionally. We'll miss him deeply, but we'll never be without a great story to tell.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, his brother William George and his son Eric Christopher.

A receiving session for mourners will begin at 10:00am on Thursday April 27, 2017, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church 201 S. Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD 20877 followed by a mass at 11:00am.

An interment will take place on a later date.

A reception will follow mass at That’s Amore Restaurant 15201 Shady Grove Road, Rockville, MD 20850.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The Endowment Fund of St. Martin of Tours School 115 South Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD 20877.
