Claudette Johnson Romano, 72, died unexpectedly on Thursday, May 11th, 2017 in Germantown, Maryland. Daughter of Claude Johnson and Nellie Britt, Claudette was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on December 3rd, 1944. Claudette attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana where she studied Architecture and Interior Design.
Claudette was predeceased by her Beloved Husband Richard Romano, on what would have been their 49th Anniversary. Claudette is survived by her son, Jason Romano (Melissa), daughter Alicia Romano (Wren), and three grandchildren, Kieran, Soren, and Taric. Claudette is also survived by her brother C. L. Johnson as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Claudette loved butterflies, and collected monarch caterpillars so they could become butterflies, which she would release into the wild to help increase their population. She enjoyed singing in the choir, doing sudoku and crossword puzzles, and sitting in her husband's garden while he puttered.
A "Celebration of Claudette's Life" will be held on Friday, May 12th, 2017 at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive in Gaithersburg, MD 20877. Faith visitation will begin at 10 AM with services at 11 AM. Interment will be at 12 PM at Boyds Presbyterian Church Cemetery located at 19901 White Ground Road, Boyds, MD 20841, with a reception to follow in the church fellowship hall.
